Baseball Game Preview: Lemoore Tigers vs. Sierra Pacific Golden Bears

The Lemoore Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lemoore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Lemoore is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Kingsburg just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 8-1 to the Vikings. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Lemoore saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Garcia's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Sierra Pacific waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bears as they made off with a 10-3 win. The game marked the Golden Bears' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Xander Stone looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Barcellos, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Corbyn Warchol was another key player, scoring a run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lemoore fell to 3-1. As for Sierra Pacific, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lemoore has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sierra Pacific struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Lemoore skirted past Sierra Pacific 4-2 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Lemoore repeat their success, or does Sierra Pacific have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
