James Howard and Max Cruz certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Howard almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Cruz scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Howard hasn't dropped below 16 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Elijah Wright, who scored seven points.

Pamlico Christian Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for Community Christian, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
