The Homer-Center Wildcats lost against the River Valley Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Homer-Center took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of River Valley. Homer-Center has struggled against River Valley recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ava Persichetti was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals for River Valley. That makes it six consecutive games in which Persichetti has scored at least a third of River Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Kenady Kitner, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Homer-Center has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for River Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Homer-Center will be playing at home against West Shamokin at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Purchase Line will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while River Valley is ranked 110th).
