Big Valley scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They were dealt a 67-39 defeat at the hands of the Burney Raiders. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Burney found their leader in freshman Aaliyah Perez, who went 14 of 27 en route to 34 points and three steals. The match was Perez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Willow Johnson, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and five boards.

Big Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Burney, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Valley will take on Butte Valley in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burney and Plumas Charter will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
