The Geibel Catholic Gators stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Everything went their way against Avella as Geibel Catholic made off with a 63-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Geibel Catholic.
Geibel Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Larkin led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which Larkin has scored at least a third of Geibel Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Henderson, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Avella lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Frank. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 59.5% of Avella's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Haleigh Rush, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Geibel Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
