Upper Merion Area is 0-5 against Boyertown since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Upper Merion Area Vikings will stay at home for another game and welcome the Boyertown Bears at 6:45 p.m. on December 21st. Hopefully Upper Merion Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Last Friday, Upper Merion Area strolled past Pottstown with points to spare, taking the game 34-20.
Upper Merion Area found their leader in underclassman Kennedy Coles, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Smith, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Boyertown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Perkiomen Valley on the road and fell 75-21. Boyertown has struggled against Perkiomen Valley recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Upper Merion Area pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.33 points. As for Boyertown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Upper Merion Area was dealt a bruising 61-24 defeat at the hands of Boyertown in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Upper Merion Area was down 39-12.
