The Taft Wildcats couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They suffered a tough 43-20 defeat at the hands of Notre Dame on Thursday. Taft was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.
Despite the loss, Taft still got an impressive performance from Shelby Gregory, who scored 7 points.
Taft's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Notre Dame, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Taft won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cabrillo at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Cabrillo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. Notre Dame's road trip will continue as they head out to face Santa Maria at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st.
