Prospect hasn't had much luck against Live Oak recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Acorns at 4:00 p.m. Prospect is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Prospect's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Hill with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.
Hill's batters probably weren't too happy with Alex Hand, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Hand has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kevin-Joseph Rieden was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Roth, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Prospect always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Live Oak suffered their closest defeat since April 23, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Gilroy by a score of 6-4.
Austin Meads was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Casey Scannell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Live Oak dropped their record down to 9-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.25 runs. As for Prospect, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Prospect has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Live Oak struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Prospect came up short against Live Oak in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, falling 4-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
