Kennedy is 10-0 against Panorama since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Kennedy Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panorama Pythons at 3:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Kennedy's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Panorama has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Kennedy has not done well against San Fernando recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kennedy walked away with a 44-33 victory over San Fernando. Given Kennedy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while San Fernando is ranked 524th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Leilani Richards, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Moran, who scored six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 63 points the game before, Panorama were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a serious blow against Van Nuys, falling 53-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Panorama has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Panorama struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Panorama, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Panorama in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 61-19 win. With Kennedy ahead 38-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
