The Lighthouse Community Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 68-9 defeat at the hands of Leadership. Lighthouse Community was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leadership to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalia Diaz, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Diaz has scored at least 25% of Leadership's points. Another player making a difference was Aishah Raoufi, who scored 17 points along with nine steals and five rebounds.
Lighthouse Community's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Leadership, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Golden State Prep the next time they take the court. Leadership will host Golden State Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Lighthouse Community will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
