Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Adelanto Saints walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Comets on Saturday as they made off with a 58-36 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-18.
Despite the loss, Sacred Heart of Jesus still got an impressive performance from Xitlali Botts, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Botts has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jazlyn Couch, who scored no points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Adelanto has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Adelanto will take on Loara at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Loara will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Adelanto surely won't give up without a fight. Sacred Heart of Jesus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
