Mounds extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 8-2 to the Caney Valley Trojans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Caney Valley, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Considering they have won three games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Caney Valley's part, Mackenzie McCabe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Caney Valley got a massive performance out of Riley Brooks, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Roxy Hawkins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Mounds will face off against Liberty at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caney Valley, they will head out to challenge Oktaha at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
