Metter put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Portal Panthers a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Metter pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Portal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
