Elk River extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 11-4. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bemidji Lumberjacks 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Bemidji, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs.

For Bemidji's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lawson Berg, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Gunner Ganske also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Elk River will head out to challenge Duluth East at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bemidji, they will challenge Brainerd at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
