The Gabrielino Eagles posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Arroyo with a sharp 50-26 victory. Given Gabrielino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Arroyo is ranked 846th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gabrielino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paris Ngeam, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Ngeam continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Banh, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Gabrielino pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.55 points. As for Arroyo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Gabrielino will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Marshall at 5:00 p.m. Marshall is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Arroyo, they will head out on the road to challenge El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. El Monte comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
