After a string of four wins, Hawkinsville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wilcox County Patriots by a score of 4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 15-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hawkinsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harlem Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Hawkinsville's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Wilcox County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

While Hawkinsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
