The Gering Bulldogs were the 61-48 winner over the Bridgeport Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. Gering took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bridgeport on Tuesday.
Bridgeport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolby Lussetto out in front who scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Lussetto's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Metz, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Gering's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bridgeport, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gering will square off against Chadron at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to face off against Hemingford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
