While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Union Grove who was credited with the victory. Union Grove got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Locust Grove's one. The win was some much needed relief for Union Grove as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Andrew Arnold and Aumkar Patel scored both of Union Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Hampton is headed into Thursday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They lost 5-0 to McDonough on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Hampton have lost by exactly five goals.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Union Grove, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Union Grove took their win against Hampton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union Grove since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
