Saint Ignatius College Prep hasn't had much luck against Montini Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Saint Ignatius College Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Leo with a sharp 13-0 win. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Cam Andrews looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Oscar Molloy, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. R. J. Goodwin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Saint Ignatius College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leo only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, Montini Catholic was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Marmion. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Cadets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Drake Palmer looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kameron Cox was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Montini Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Quin Paprockas, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Saint Ignatius College Prep's record is now 14-8. As for Montini Catholic, their record now sits at 14-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Saint Ignatius College Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Montini Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
