Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sierra Pacific walked away with it. They blew past the Redwood Rangers 75-40 on Friday. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 35 points or more this season.
Apajok Ayuen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7-for-13 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points along with seven steals and five assists. The matchup was her third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyang Ayuen, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Sierra Pacific was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They racked up ten more assists than Redwood's also-impressive total of 12.
Despite the loss, Redwood still got an impressive performance from Jazmaine Stewart, who put up ten points and five rebounds. Stewart is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last five games she's played. Brooklyn Tayo was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks.
Sierra Pacific has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.5 points. As for Redwood, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.
Coming up, Sierra Pacific will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cabrillo at 6:00 p.m. Sierra Pacific knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Cabrillo likes a good challenge.
