In what's become a running theme this season, the Williamsburg Blue Pirates gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They put the hurt on Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy with a sharp 67-41 victory. Winning may never get old, but Williamsburg sure is getting used to it with their 17th in a row.
Leading Williamsburg to victory were Ayla Hileman and Levada Gorsuch. Hileman scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Gorsuch dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gorsuch has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Prough, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Williamsburg's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-1.
Williamsburg will square off against Everett at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Williamsburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
