The Mayer Wildcats typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the San Pasqual Valley Warriors proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 49-40 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for San Pasqual Valley.
Kyla Emerson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daeja Villicana, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Mayer's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danni McCann, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Fatima Morales who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 52.5% of Mayer's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mayer struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as San Pasqual Valley posted 13 assists.
San Pasqual Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Mayer, they now have a losing record at 9-10-1.
