The Bloomfield Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bloomfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Bloomfield gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Loogootee 14-6. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Bloomfield got a massive performance out of Jake Rose, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Casey Porter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bloomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Eastern Greene played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They put the hurt on White River Valley with a sharp 13-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won five in a row.
Masen Hall spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Landon Norris was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Wyatt Craig also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Bloomfield's record now sits at 12-3. As for Eastern Greene, their record is now 6-11.
Bloomfield couldn't quite get it done against Eastern Greene when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 7-4. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
