Central Dauphin is 8-2 against Altoona since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Central Dauphin Rams will be home for the holidays to greet the Altoona Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. Central Dauphin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, Central Dauphin earned a 42-33 win over State College. Given Central Dauphin's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while State College is ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Dauphin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Green, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Green has scored at least 25% of Central Dauphin's points. Another player making a difference was Kayla Fletcher, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Altoona came up short against Hollidaysburg on Thursday and fell 45-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Altoona has scored all season.
Central Dauphin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Altoona, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Central Dauphin strolled past Altoona in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 49-30. Will Central Dauphin repeat their success, or does Altoona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
