The Davis Sr. Blue Devils came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Grant with a 54-48 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Davis Sr.'s disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Grant is ranked 117th).
Tessa Schouten was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiana Trotman, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Davis Sr. is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.
Davis Sr. will head out on the road to face off against Cosumnes Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cosumnes Oaks will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Grant will take on Laguna Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
