Baseball Game Preview: Grossmont Foothillers vs. El Capitan Vaqueros

For the second straight game, Grossmont will face off against El Capitan. The Foothillers will face off against the Vaqueros at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

While Grossmont's victory against El Capitan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Foothillers had just enough and edged out the Vaqueros 7-6. The Foothillers haven't had any issues with the Vaqueros recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Tyler Holmes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Grossmont's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-12 when he doesn't). Colton Burke was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Grossmont's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for El Capitan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
