Baseball Game Preview: East Laurens Falcons vs. Southwest Patriots

East Laurens is a perfect 7-0 against Southwest since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. East Laurens will be playing at home against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. East Laurens will be strutting in after a win while Southwest will be coming in after a defeat.

East Laurens' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Jefferson County with a sharp 11-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

East Laurens let Landon Ayers and Konner Oneal run wild. Ayers scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Oneal scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Oneal a new career-high. Colton McCoy also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

East Laurens always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson County only posted an OBP of .062.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southwest's offense. They lost 12-0 to East Laurens on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

East Laurens' win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

East Laurens took their victory against Southwest in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-0. Does East Laurens have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
