The Evergreen Valley Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Christopher Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evergreen Valley will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Evergreen Valley can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Leland 70-40 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Evergreen Valley has posted since December 7, 2023.
Evergreen Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lealah Rowden, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rowden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryka Aprameyan, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Christopher fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Pioneer on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 43-35 to the Mustangs.
Evergreen Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.67 points. As for Christopher, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-2.
Evergreen Valley came up short against Christopher when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 58-51. Can Evergreen Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
