Softball Recap: Washington Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Washington came tearing into Monday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Cache Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won 20 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellie Musgrove and Ally Dennis dominated on the mound. Musgrove tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits, while Dennis tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Washington let Ava Salcedo and Kinzlee Pogue run wild. Salcedo got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Pogue went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Jasey Baker was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Cache, they dropped their record down to 25-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cache, they will head out to face off against Southmoore at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
