Iyanna Wade was her usual excellent self, scoring 65 points for Clairton. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Wade has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. J Childs was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Steel Valley's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Clairton, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Steel Valley will head out on the road to square off against Winchester Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Winchester Thurston is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Clairton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Springdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Springdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 580th, while Clairton is ranked 203rd).
