The Charter Oak Chargers lost against the El Rancho Dons back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Charter Oak falling 52-35. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading El Rancho to victory were Emma Gonzalez and Emery Riker. Gonzalez scored 15 points along with 8 steals, while Riker dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Riker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carissa Basurto, who scored 2 points along with 8 steals and 5 assists.
Charter Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for El Rancho, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charter Oak will take on Don Lugo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Rancho, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Montebello at 6:30 p.m.
