The West Hills Wolf Pack will take on the Clairemont Chieftains in a tournament on Monday. Clairemont took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West Hills, who comes in off a win.
West Hills' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Morse as West Hills made off with an 11-0 win. The Wolf Pack have beaten the Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
The result came thanks to Anthony Rosolino's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because West Hills is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, West Hills got a massive performance out of Carson-Kai Lewis, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Lewis has become a key player for West Hills: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Joey Monetti was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
West Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Clairemont didn't have quite enough to beat Otay Ranch on Friday and fell 2-1. The Chieftains have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Clairemont also got a good showing from Jack Pawlack, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Brendan Weiss made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Clairemont, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
West Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against Clairemont when the teams last played back in March of 2023, sneaking past 8-6. Will West Hills repeat their success, or does Clairemont has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
