The Independence Falcons are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Lancaster Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Independence lost a heartbreaker to Frontier when they met back in December of 2021, and they left with a heavy heart again two weeks ago. Independence was beaten by Frontier 60-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Independence in their matchups with Frontier: they've now lost five in a row.
Independence's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaylynn Bolden, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds, and Madison Harrold who scored six points along with five rebounds. Bolden scored a full 42.9% of Independence's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lancaster's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Antelope Valley an easy 73-50 victory.
Independence has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Lancaster, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
