Perhaps the best among them was Jennifer Stanion, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. That's the most boards Stanion has posted since back in December of 2024. Piper Lenihan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.
Santa Fe Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Escondido Charter's strategy against Classical Academy on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Escondido Charter blew Classical Academy out of the water with a 54-27 final score. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.
Santa Fe Christian better keep an eye on Kami Gillis. She was instrumental in Escondido Charter's win, putting up 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Gillis has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Harper Mowrey, who posted eight points and 14 boards.
Escondido Charter pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points per game. As for Santa Fe Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Santa Fe Christian has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 35.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Escondido Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
