The Tulelake Honkers will head out on the road to take on the Redding Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Tulelake earned a 46-33 victory over Surprise Valley. The win was just what Tulelake needed coming off of a 48-24 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Redding Christian was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Burney 52-16 at home. Given Redding Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Burney is ranked 1077th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tulelake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-16 record this season. As for Redding Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
Tulelake was dealt a bruising 65-23 loss at the hands of Redding Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Thankfully for Tulelake, Sammie Wunner (who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
