Blue Earth extended the longest winning streak in South Central this week by beating Fairmont, 33-24. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Buccaneers.
St. Peter took down Columbia Heights 52-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
New Ulm's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Mulder threw for 153 and two touchdowns and Isaiah Johnson had 131 yards receiving. On the ground Jackson Yackley chipped in 24 yards. Sam Miller helped New Ulm's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
New Ulm's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mulder has thrown for 840 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Johnson has 18 catches for 365 yards. Yackley leads the league in rushing with 379 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Saints take on Waseca. St. Peter is currently in second, while the Bluejays are in third.
Waseca led South Central in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on St. James.
