The Forest Hills Rangers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over Greater Latrobe. Given Forest Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Greater Latrobe is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Forest Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arissa Britt, who scored 13 points along with six assists. Alexis Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Forest Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Greater Latrobe, they bumped their record down to 5-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Hills will square off against Bellwood-Antis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bellwood-Antis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Monday. Greater Latrobe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oakland Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Oakland Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 521 points over their last eight matches.
