The St. Anthony Saints will head out to challenge the Bishop Montgomery Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Anthony is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
St. Anthony made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went St. Anthony's way against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on Friday as St. Anthony made off with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Saints needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Benny Lane
The result came thanks to Benny Lane's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Anthony is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke DeGiorgio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Austin Cassidy, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Bishop Montgomery suffered their biggest defeat since March 15, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against St. Bernard, falling 9-3. That makes it the first time this season the Knights have let down their home crowd.
Bishop Montgomery also got a good showing from Diego Olmos, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Olmos gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, Ethan Peterson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Sean Yanko also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
The win got St. Anthony back to even at 4-4. As for Bishop Montgomery, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Bishop Montgomery's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Anthony hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Bishop Montgomery, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain St. Anthony's hitters?
St. Anthony came up short against Bishop Montgomery when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 4-1. Can St. Anthony avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
