Ellis will head out on the road to face off against the Carlynton Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Ellis and three for Carlynton.
Last Monday, Ellis was beaten by Clairton 57-26. While losing is never fun, Ellis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 456th, while Clairton is ranked 116th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Carlynton, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-24 loss to Jeannette on Monday.
Ellis' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-5. As for Carlynton, they bumped their record down to 3-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
