Baseball Recap: Lunenburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lunenburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tyngsborough Tigers a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Monday.

Brady Kelly made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brett Richard, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Nate Henry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lunenburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .533 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Lunenburg's record is now 14-3-1. As for Tyngsborough, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Coming up, Lunenburg will head out to square off against Advanced Math & Science Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Tyngsborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
