Even though the Eastlake Wolves scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Emerald Ridge Jaguars still came out on top. Emerald Ridge snuck past Eastlake with a 60-55 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Emerald Ridge.
Eastlake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tatum Wood, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Wood has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Aluas, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Emerald Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Eastlake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emerald Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Graham-Kapowsin at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Graham-Kapowsin is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Eastlake, they will be playing at home against North Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
