Basketball Recap: Venture Academy Has No Trouble Against Millennium

Venture Academy's and Millennium's match on Saturday was close at halftime, but Venture Academy turned on the heat in the second half with 39 points. The Venture Academy Mustangs blew past the Millennium Falcons 65-41. That 24 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Venture Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kelyiana Neal led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 steals. Neal has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Watkins, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Venture Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Millennium's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards, and Bella Tran, who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Tran a new career-high in points.

The win made it two in a row for Venture Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Millennium, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Venture Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-35 loss against Franklin on the 7th. As for Millennium, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-21 victory against Big Valley Christian on the 7th.
