After having lost a blowout in their previous game against El Rancho, the Wilson Mules were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They strolled past Huntington Park with points to spare, taking the game 54-39. For Wilson, this counts as revenge for the 31-28 defeat Huntington Park walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2019.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anniyah H, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Alexis J, who scored 11 points.
Huntington Park's loss came despite strong showings from Juana Vargas and Ingryd Hernandez. Vargas scored 16 points, while Hernandez scored 15 points. Hernandez scored a full 38.5% of Huntington Park's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Wilson back to even at 2-2. As for Huntington Park, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Wilson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on November 24th. Franklin is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Huntington Park, they will take on El Rancho at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully El Rancho focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
