The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles were the 52-42 winner over the Batesville Bulldogs when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Jac-Cen-Del fell 55-45 to Batesville on Tuesday. Jac-Cen-Del has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Loss or not, Jac-Cen-Del got some senior leadership from Kaylin Hinners who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and Reagan Hughes who scored 16 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Julia Meyer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Jac-Cen-Del's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Batesville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Jac-Cen-Del will be playing in front of their home fans against Milan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Milan is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. Batesville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against South Ripley at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully South Ripley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
