Baseball Recap: Bishop Union Has No Trouble Against Boron

Bishop Union was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Boron on Tuesday. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bobcats. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Brayden Leeson and Will Kemp were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Leeson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kemp tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Leeson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Kemp went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, August Veenker was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Richie Talavera was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Bishop Union is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Boron, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

As of now, neither Bishop Union nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
