After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hemingford, the Banner County Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Minatare by a score of 34-22. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for Banner County this season.
Banner County found their leader in underclassman Leeigh McGowan, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which McGowan has scored at least a third of Banner County's points.
Banner County's win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Minatare, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Banner County will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Storm at 5:00 p.m. Creek Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Minatare, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Cowboys/Cowgirls on February 3rd.
