It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats can now relate to. They fell just short of Deweyville by a score of 28-26. Mt. Enterprise has not had much luck with Deweyville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Mt. Enterprise lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Kaegan Ash. Despite the final result, he rushed for 357 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Ash is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
Elijah Curl got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns.
Mt. Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Deweyville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Mt. Enterprise does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Deweyville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Bowie is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
