The Conemaugh Township Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Ferndale on the road to the tune of 50-23. The win was just what Conemaugh Township needed coming off of a 55-24 loss in their prior matchup.
Conemaugh Township got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlyn Fetterman out in front who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Fetterman hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Wiley, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maisen Sechrengost, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Sechrengost is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played.
Conemaugh Township's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Ferndale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Township will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Northern Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. As for Ferndale, they will square off against Blacklick Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Blacklick Valley will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
