The Omaha Northwest Huskies can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They breezed by Jefferson on the road to the tune of 60-32. The win was just what Omaha Northwest needed coming off of a 69-28 loss in their prior match.
Abriya Watkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Houston, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Jefferson had strong showings from Grace Strong, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Rylee Wurtz, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Omaha Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Jefferson, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Northwest will take on Omaha South at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Heelan Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
