The Redondo Union Sea Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Redondo Union is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Torrance on Friday. They fell just short of the Tartars by a score of 3-2.

Redondo Union got a good showing from Robby Zimmerman, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Zimmerman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, KG Hattori made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Taehan Kim, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Palos Verdes had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Narbonne on Monday. That looming 8-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sea Kings yet this season.
Christian Reis looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on RJ Paddock, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Franco Correa also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Palos Verdes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.
Redondo Union has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Palos Verdes' record is now 3-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Redondo Union has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palos Verdes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Redondo Union couldn't quite get it done against Palos Verdes when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can Redondo Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
